QEW Constructability Review VE Workshop
City of Toronto
Project Value: $100 million
Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) – twinning of the Credit River Bridge and major rehabilitation of the existing structure including upgrading a 2.6 km section of the freeway and associated works. In support of the detail design assignment being completed by Morrison Hershfield (MH) for the QEW from west of Mississauga Road to west of Hurontario Street, BTE facilitated two constructability workshops. The first review took place in June 2017 at the 30% design stage, focusing on the rehabilitation and twinning of the bridge over the Credit River. This second workshop held in September 2018 had a more global focus on the project; project staging, overall schedule, utilities, but still had emphasis on the preferred design for the new Credit River Bridge, a concrete segmental box girder structure.
